Though he stuck with the same mellow style throughout the whole album I still feel Mac Miller missed what he was trying to do when he finalized his production. In the Divine Feminine, Mac Miller tried to tell a story of love through a soft, sensual and seductive way with his vocals and production.

Mac had a lot of big name features on his album such as Kendrick Lamar, Ty Dolla Sign and Ariana Grande, however every feature out does Mac Miller and does the sound he is going for better than he does himself.Īlso putting in the fact that the ten song tracklist is the shortest tracklist on a Mac Miller project to date, however seeing how it started out as an EP and became a full length album after Mac started coming out with more ideas, you can’t really blame him. The jazzy type rap appealed to me and I enjoyed most of the songs on the album, although seeing how Mac didn’t really do anything out of the ordinary or spectacular on this album to solidify his name as one of the best in the rap game, you can’t really say this is one of Mac’s best albums to date. As a loose concept record about the many subtleties of love and distance, the Pittsburgh rappers new release is the most surprising, concise, and accomplished. However, with the Divine Feminine, Mac sort of slowed down again and went back to his old roots with and with the Divine Feminine almost established himself as more of a singer than a rapper. Just about a year ago Mac Miller released his third commercial album known as “Good AM” and it really surprised me seeing how Mac Miller sort of came out of nowhere with a lot of fun tracks that made me enjoy the album a lot.
